My police department purchased a 1.5-year-old Dutch Shepherd/ Malinois Mix from Alexuandre K9 from Cape Town, South Africa in May 2024. This was my second dual purpose dog that I was partnered with in my law enforcement handling career. My lead trainer and I were in close contact with Alexuandre K9 before, during, and after the purchase. Alexuandre K9 Staff were very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I expressed what characteristics and skills I needed the dog to have, and they filled that need exponentially. The dog I received was immediately able to be around my small children, conduct bitework with hidden sleeves, and jumped right into detection work. This dog was able to fit right into patrol work, tactical apprehension work with the SWAT Team, and narcotics detection after handler school. This dog is a natural with his trailing capabilities in finding suspects as well as missing children/adults. It was important to my city and I that the dog be capable of conducting elementary through high school K9 Demonstrations and meet & greets. The dog provided was able to be socially capable of doing this but could immediately flip the switch to apprehension work when needed to. Alexuandre K9 was in contact with me after receiving the dog and is still in contact with me today to ensure I was satisfied with the dog’s capabilities and temperament. I had the unique pleasure of going to Cape Town and observing the exact training process that my dog went through to be the performer he is today. I was not surprised to see that the training is very regimented and consists of the same training I do back in Texas with seasoned dogs. I look forward to choosing Alexuandre K9 for my next working dog purchase.

About five years ago I took an absolute shot in the dark and purchased my first Malinois puppy from a company I had never heard of before, Alexaundre K9. The hope was for her to be my partner, a narcotics detection dog. I had no idea what I was doing or what I was getting into. But safe to say she surpassed all expectations. I had no idea my first ever, shot in the dark Malinois was going to be the best dog I will probably ever own. She was self raised and trained and certified around two years and has been operational in some of the most challenging environments including Plett Rage, the heart of local Townships, searching busses and vehicles on the side of a busy N2 and inside schools like prisons with unruly children who push the limits of what is considered a safe and stable working dog. She remains calm and confident in any environment and despite also being trained as a protection dog, is level headed and reliable no matter what stands in front of her. She has never let me down and has proven to be invaluable to our team, local community, Municipal law enforcement and the local SAPS who have called upon us for assistance in drug operations or visible policing operations. Her drive is exceptional and continues to push me to improve my handling and training skills daily. Echo has formed the foundation of my business and my knowledge as a dog trainer and handler and will leave a legacy behind her in what we have achieved together. She has been certified three times as a narcotics detection dog and above all, is my partner in everything and anything and will live and die by my side. I will always be thankful to Alexaundre K9 for selling me the best dog I could ever ask for.

Take Action Zimbabwe is an organization based in Zimbabwe mainly focused on wildlife crime prevention using canines. We were approached by numerous schools in Zimbabwe to help with the rising drug problem and I reached out to Alexuandre K9 to assist with a fully trained canine. A beautiful Sable German shepherd Bentley was selected for us and she did not disappoint. She had many narcotic finds in schools working around hundreds of children and in very stressing environments like small confined study areas and school busses to children’s dormitories while the children were present in their quarters. All searches were conducted with the utmost confidence in Bentleys abilities and her clear nature. She has helped canine detection in Zimbabwe schools become a well recognized and integral part of the battle against narcotics.
